CURRENT PROJECT

Support for the people of Ukraine

Vostok SOS provides humanitarian aid on the ground in the frontline areas of Ukraine. The association is committed to the protection of human rights as well as medical and humanitarian support for affected persons.

Vostok SOS | Ukraine | 2014

The non-profit organization Vostok SOS has been working to uphold human rights and provide medical and humanitarian assistance to affected individuals since the Russian military aggression in eastern Ukraine in 2014. Due to the current Russian invasion, the activities have been expanded to the whole of Ukraine.

Problem

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is causing humanitarian disasters in the affected regions. As a result of bombardments and military constriction, countless people are losing access to basic supplies of medicine and food, their homes, or even their lives.

Solution

Vostok SOS responds to the currently escalating situation with a comprehensive humanitarian campaign, directly and straightforwardly on the ground. People in the frontline areas can contact Vostok SOS directly via internet and telephone to receive e.g. medicine, food and psychological support or to be assisted in the evacuation. The team is on the ground in the region to coordinate the aid.

Why we support the project

The current war situation in Ukraine is putting people in humanitarian emergencies through no fault of their own. The approach of the DUC Club is to support as directly and specifically as possible on the ground in order to donate opportunities together. The experience and commitment of Vostok SOS as well as their transparent communication fit very well with this. Established international cooperation partners such as Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe or USAID reinforce this impression.
