CURRENT PROJECT

EMERGENCY AID PAKISTAN

After heavy floods caused by the monsoon, Pakistan has declared a state of emergency. Help e.V. supports those affected with food and mosquito nets.

Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V. | Bonn | 1981

Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V. supports people in need worldwide and pursues a fast, unbureaucratic and yet long-term aid approach.

Problem

Since June 2022, Pakistan has been hit by severe monsoon-related flooding. The government declared a state of emergency on Aug. 25, 2022, and is appealing for international assistance. According to official figures, 33 million Pakistanis are affected by the floods, about one in seven of the country’s inhabitants. Pakistan is one of the countries in the world most affected by the consequences of climate change.

Solution

Together with its long-standing local partner CAMP, Help is organizing emergency aid measures. In a first step, 20.000€ will be provided to supply the affected people with food and mosquito nets against diseases such as malaria.Due to its experience from past flood disasters and an active network, Help can provide help quickly and effectively.

Why we support the project

Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V. is an established, transparent donation organization in the field of acute aid, which is known for fast help in emergency situations and has a low cost ratio. Last year, we already had positive experiences with Help’s work during the flood disaster in the Ahr valley. This time, too, we can use Help to help people in Pakistan receive vital aid in terms of nutrition and health in a coordinated and rapid manner.
